But first! Other business: we're still getting set up over here, so it will be a bit before we have perusable archives. If you're new to our style of sports coverage, check our old home on blogspot out in the meantime.

What a game last night, eh?

Ok, ignoring the first 10 minutes of the first which featured the now familiar sllllloooooowwwwww Sharks, who have apparently been chided by mother nature and forced to reduce their speed. (there's a pure internet reference)

The Rangers scored their two goals about 77 seconds apart. Which means it took just over a minute for Sharks fans to go from "we look slow, but we can do this" to "oh holy eff"

This game is over. Rangers are just on a roll, what can you say?

Or...not.

Ignoring the pattern of late (play bad and go down by a goal or two in the first, have something magically happen n the locker, come out a new team), the Sharks channeled whatever mojo they needed and suddenly sped up and started to play better, crisper and more aggressively. It's not coincidence that the game also became much more fun to watch at this point.

BOOM! You've just been Stuabitz, Valiquette. Whoo! 2-1

And the Heatley is like "watch me score a PPG" and he does. For some reason people keep droning on about his being "dropped" the second line. He apparently wasn't that bothered by it.

Sharks go into the 1st break tied 2-2.

In the second Ortmeyer (who always looks different than I expect and I don't know why) scores the 3rd goal to bring the Sharks into the lead Just a bit over a min into the 2nd.

Seto gets a sweet power play goal a few minutes later. Omg I think we can hold this lead!

Seto scores again! Whoo! Go for the hatty, Seto, go for the hatty!

He doesn't get the hat trick but Vesce and Patty score twice more in the thrid to give the Sharks the win.

Of course Lisin gets on back for his guys towards the end, ruining the beauty of four unanswered goals.

Ok, I know what you're thinking, "The Rangers started their backup against the Sharks. No way they come back with Lundqvist in net!" Patty and Vesce would like to have a few words with you.
